The Lego City Police Station is almost escape proof - apart from the pipe that goes out through the drain! The good news is that even if your prisoners do manage to get out the officers have plenty of ways to track them down - a bicycle, police car, transport van and a police dog.
This huge set contains an astonishing 783 pieces that will have you building for ages. It's recomended for Lego fans aged six and up.

We all remember the squared little man who came with the Lego building set when we were kids.Through time Legos have evolved from that little man and a bunch of different colored square pieces to sophisticated structures and complete city building sets. Now they have people, cars, and animal figures; having specialized into sets used to build specific types of buildings or animals or even space ships. But these sets were originally intended for boys to use. There were no girl figures in them, and they building or structure was a police station or firehouse or something that would usually attract a boy's attention. Now you can find sets intended for girls only, school sets and hospital sets, are examples of this.Today as girls take their place in the world we find Lego sets designed for them. Now you find girls included in the large sets, and you find beauty parlor sets, and kitchen sets. The company which produces them has found a new market in girls and they are taking it very seriously.Girls have changed their attitudes too; they no longer want to play with dolls and stuffed animals.Girls want to be engineers and fire-women and policewomen too. They want to play with the games that were dominated by boys for a long time. Now you can find Lego construction sets which include dolls and also structures and themes related to them. They are the same sets boys used to play with but a feminine touch has been added which appeals to women too.

The police headquarter/station was purchased for our Grandson for Christmas. He loves it! It stays on our coffee table 24/7 and he gets upset if I move it to clean. He has added two large helicopters and one small one, a plane, prisoner transport, one motorcycle and two K-9 dogs to this set. The set is fine for a six year old if they love to put things together and it teaches them to follow directions. I purchased a Rubbermaid tote to store all the instruction booklets just in case something gets broken or needs repair. He loves moving all the officers around and pretending what the bad guys are trying to do. I would reccommend going to Lego.com and letting your little ones see the videos they have there. They are free and my Grandson loves them and it encourages creative play for him. Lego also has a free magazine you can subscribe to, and he loves getting mail. So, it is the bomb...but my family roomm decor is ..a little different than I had planned. That's OK, I am... Read more

The Lego Police Station has 783 pieces. I like it because I like how the jail cell doors open and close. It was pretty hard to build even though it says ages 6-12. If you buy this set, I think you will like it. It is the best set in Lego City. It has lots of great minifigures, including two robbers, four policemen, and a dog. It is a good set to play with even after you've finished building.

As a child, we moved around a lot, and quite often flew Lufthansa, and my sisters and I would receive little toy boxes of Lego's. I told my son this, and he looked at me as if Lego's were just invented last year.
So, thirty plus years later, my 8 yr old has become infatuated with Lego's, to the point that we save each box; when taken apart, each section is placed in the bag with it's individual instruction booklet- if he could, he would set up an invisible laser system to keep my 3 year old from touching his sacred City.
He has most of the City, and if Lego came out with more items to purchase for the City collection, he would pick up sticks, again, in the front yard for money to buy them.
Granted, Lego's are not the cheapest toy, but if it makes him use his imagination, and not have something (T.V.) do it for him, I'll gladly spend what money I can budget into keeping his mind at work.
Definitely a keeper- but I don't remember the pieces... Read more

This is a lot fun set comes with bank, police car and motor bike; I got it at a resonable rate from Lego Store. When I see the price here more than $80, I was such surprised. Don't understand why so many buyers instantly buy one thing without ever comparing price among a lot webs.

When one surveys the multi-decade longevity of the Town/City theme there are two types of sets that it is staggering how few versions have been produced: hospitals and banks. Since the advent of the minifigure in the late 70s there have been only two hospitals (6380 Emergency Treatment Center in 1987 and 7892 Hospital in 2006) and before this model only two banks (1490 Bank in 1990 and 6566 Bank in 1997). This has always baffled me considering that Lego has produced a new police station or fire station, without fail, every 3-5 years over that same timeframe. It seems to me that banks for the crooks whom the police are chasing to rob and hospitals to take the burn victims of all the houses that the fire department is saving would be the perfect counterparts to those more prevalent sets. The purpose of this brief history lesson is to highlight the following: this set is a rare treasure. It is bar none (even though there are not very many to bar as I have just shown) the best Lego bank... Read more

We purchased this for our Son's 5th birthday, he loves all things lego especially lego city and was so excited to receive this. This is one of the first lego sets I have attempted to build as my husband normally gets in there before me, that being said, my son pretty much was one step ahead of me in the construction of it so it is pretty easy to put together. Great set and great fun!
